CoreSphere’s May Food Drive for the Capital Area Food Bank

As the weather gets warmer and summer approaches, CoreSphere sets its sight on community service; for the month of May, CoreSphere and its employees will be raising funds and food donations for the Capital Area Food Bank  (CAFB)

Food Banks often receive generous donations during the winter holidays, but many food banks struggle during the summer months when schools are out-of-session and people are on vacation. According to MoveForHunger.org, summer months are the time of the year food banks face their greatest need. That said, CoreSphere has decided to work with the CAFB to try to make a positive impact during this challenging time of year.

CoreSphere is using two methods of fundraising to support this initiative. First, our marketing team set up a digital donation team page for employees who wish to make monetary donations. Second, our office employees are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food donations for our in-office collection. At the end of the month, these donations will be delivered to the CAFB.  In addition, the CoreSphere executive team has announced their pledge to match employee donations; for every dollar that employees donate, CoreSphere will match fifty cents!

CoreSphere believes in fostering employees’ professional and personal growth through certification, engagement, and education. We also believe in the power of giving back to our community. Not only do we encourage our employees to participate in our May Food Drive, but we also encourage local businesses to take a moment to reach out to their communities as well. (We have provided information at the end of this article for individual and team engagement resources on the Capital Area Food Bank website.)

To inspire our employees, we are encouraging everyone to share their favorite foods and recipes during our May food drive. These stories, recipes, and ideas will be collected and turned into a book of CoreSphere employee recipes and distributed to all CoreSphere employees as a “Thank You for your Generosity” gift.

The Capital Area Food Bank aids citizens in the Washington DC Metro Area, including Montgomery County, where CoreSphere’s headquarters is located. Not only does the CAFB provide food for those in the DMV going hungry, they also provide support systems and education services about Nutrition, Food Waste, Advocacy, and Technology in the fight against hunger in the USA. For more information, or to start your own fundraising efforts this summer, visit the CAFB website. The CoreSphere digital donation team page is part of the CAFB’s Digital Food Drive.
